Zeroemissions will carry out a process to create carbon credits in the wind park that Abengoa is going to build in Brazil

Zeroemissions estimate a reduction of 91,000 tons of CO2 per year throughout the life cycle of the project.

Zeroemissions, an Abengoa company that provides global climate change solutions, will carry out the process to create carbon credits for the three wind parks that Inabensa and Abengoa Brasil are going to develop in Brazil.

Both companies have set up a joint venture with Banco Santander Brasil to build, run and maintain the wind parks named “Santo Antonio de Padua”, “Sao Cristovao” and “Sao Jorge”. The project is located in the state of Ceará, in the northeast of Brazil. The energy produced will be sold to Brazil's National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL).

Zeroemissions will be in charge of developing the carbon credit generation process within the rules laid down by the United Nations for clean and renewable energy production. When this energy is included in the interconnected Brazilian network the project will reduce the consumption of fossil fuels in the country’s energy needs. A reduction of 91,000 tones of CO2 per year is estimated during the life cycle of the project.
